Get Active for Adoption

Adoption Matters Northwest needs your help - and there are so many ways you can support the work we do in building new families. As a registered charity, we rely on donations from supporters to pay for our work. It doesn't matter if its small change or a major donation, cash or a Gift Aid Declaration - it all adds up.

If you would like more details about how the agency raises vital funds to support the adoption work we carry out please email us; fundraising@adoptionmattersnw.org or visit our information leaflet page. Read on to find out how you could help.

Easyfundraising

We are asking for your support this year, in the most simplest way possible. If you buy gifts and presents for your family and friends online at your favourite stores, you could buy them the same way as always but through easyfundraising.

Registering for free with easyfundraising at: www.easyfundraising.org.uk you can browse through the big retailers and click through to their site to purchase your items. You do not have to do any more than that but by using this pathway our agency will get an automatic donation of between 1% and 15% of your item purchase price. You do not pay the donation; the donation is claimed from the major brand themselves.

Mission Fish

As part of our other fundraising activities, Adoption Matters Northwest has set up a Mission Fish / ebay account. Mission Fish is a specific company that helps charities to auction items via ebay but allowing the money to be legitimately donated to the charity, maintaining our status as a non profit making member (look out for the ribbon logo). All of the items are listed as being auctioned for charity so bidders know all the money goes to a good cause. Alternatively we can be chosen, by any person selling items on ebay, as a nominated Charity to receive part or all of the profit made from an item sold. To find out how you could nominate our charity to receive some of the money you make whilst selling on ebay click here, and select the 'sell' tab on the window that opens.

Eventually we also hope to be able to sell items ourselves and get 100% of the profit. We are therefore looking for companys and organisations who would like to work in partnership with Adoption Matters Northwest, to set up an online store. This way we can get donations from regular products that are sold, or we could aution off items they regularly donate to the organisation. If you have an appropriate product lead company or know someone who does, please call the Communications Officer on 01254 57759 or email fundraising@adoptionmattersnw.org

Parish Advocates

If you attend a C of E Church, perhaps you'd like to consider a role as one of a network of Parish Advocates?

If so, contact, via email Shirley Leslie

If you work for a major employer or know somebody who does, you could ask them to help us.

By making contact with large businesses we can ask them to help. They could support us by allowing us to put leaflets in payslips, letting us set up displays in the workplace or talk to their employees.

By doing this, and perhaps donating directly to us, they can really help us get the adoption message out there.

What your money could pay for:

£2,000 covers the costs of a series of preparation groups.

£1,200 will pay for a feature in the media to recruit new adopters.

£900 will pay for 3,000 leaflets to publicise our work

£550 will pay for 10 sessions of therapy for a child

£100 covers the cost of an event to support adopters.

£50 allows an initial consultation with an adopted person or birth parent

Why not download one of our posters and display it in your church hall or community centre? Visit our information leaflet page.

And the ideas shouldn't stop there. If you could think of any other ways that we can raise funds or let people know what we do, please drop us a line

Adopt-A-Bear.

Can you give a bear a home? For a donation of just £5 you can adopt one of our bears. You may chose to keep the bear or to give it to someone special. All our bears come with their own adoption certificate and all they need is a new name and a new loving home.

£3 of your donation goes towards raising money for Adoption Matters Northwest. The other £2 goes to the 'Parents for Children' charity in conjunction with 'Build-a-Bear'. All bears are 12 inches in height and are of good quality, as sold in the Build-a-bear stores therefore they are also compatible with all the matching outfits and accessories sold for the bears. If you would like a bear call 01254 57759 and speak to Gillian or email your details with a contact telephone number to fundraising@adoptionmattersnw.org and we give you more details about the Adopt-a-bear fundraising scheme.

Get Active for Adoption.

Have you ever thought about getting active for Adoption Matters Northwest. You could choose to get sponsorship money or donations for your event and the proceeds can go to Adoption Matters Northwest, as a registered Charity. Get in touch with us. We have links with different organisations like a sky diving company and for most challenges, as long as you raise enough money to cover the cost of the event set up, our charity can receive the rest. Perhaps you have other ideas or other challenges that you would like to get involved with. Adoption Matters Northwest will help you, where possible, and support you with your sponsorship and fundraising. We have literature to give to the people who may wish to sponsor you, and a sponsorship support pack including an agency headed sponsor form. Download the sponsorship support pack now.
