Proud poets awarded prestigious prize

Adoption Matters Northwest was delighted to announce the winners of its annual poetry competition at a VIP awards ceremony at the prestigious Gorton Monastery, Manchester.

Budding poets from across Cheshire and North East Wales, Merseyside, Lancashire and Greater Manchester attended the competition final which was hosted by Cheshire’s longest serving Poet Laureate, W. Terry Fox.

The awards were also attended by many supporters of the charity including the Deputy Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Harry Lyons.

Prizes were presented by a selection of professional poets from across the region that made up this year’s judging panel.

The charity received over 200 entries to this year’s competition and was overwhelmed by the quality of the poems from both adults and children alike. Follow the links to view all of the finalists and winning poems
